April 6 & 7: “Second Hand Chekov”
Like modern film writers of Robert Altman and Woody Allen who emphasize the beauty of the mundane, the dramatic works of Anton Chekov can at times be difficult for actors to perform and even more difficult for audiences to enjoy. In this workshop we will delve into a selection of Chekov’s work and turn it into a vibrant and gripping performance. Script analysis, rehearsal, and a riveting screen performance for your acting reel.

Class teachers: Curtis August and Liz Blanchard

April 13 & 14:”Advanced Acting Secrets to Master your MOJO!”

Discovering your “mojo”: which are your exclusive traits that benefit you in every artistic situation. This class is designed to help you land the perfect roles for stage or screen by defining your most unique core essence, and owning your power! Take advantage of this class’ uncommon professional tools and techniques to take you to the next level in your acting career. This class also covers advanced training in the Energy System of Acting (ESA), a system designed to enhance an actor’s imaginative capabilities. This results in more honest performances because it enhances one’s faith to live truthfully under those imaginary circumstances. By being grounded in physical acting exercises, students are encouraged to look deeply into how their bodies work; expanding the limits of their physical capabilities. Class teachers: Janet Caliri & Brittney Buffo

April 20 & 21: “Soap Opera”
Shooting days worth of material in just a few hours, acting in a soap is a high-energy experience. On day one, actors will arrive to a pre written script for a mini-soap. We will settle on roles, do a table read, and go directly into rehearsal. On day two we will shoot the soap and you will receive a copy before you leave! Class teachers: Curtis August & Liz Blanchard

April 27 & 28: “Directing Actors for the screen”

Directing actors can be an exciting experience for some and a troubling one for others. The key is to coach the actor right into the mind-set of the writer. Being the bridge is a craft. This class guides directors how to get the best performances from their actors. Class teachers: Brittney Buffo & Marq Hawkins
